Came to work today

Made a mocha-based coffee

Met with Lisa Phan

As she shook her head at me.

With a firm but cautious tone,

She repeated the last quote

That I spoke before we closed last night

As I grabbed my overcoat.

Boss, come here. You’ve dropped the ball. I think it’s very clear.

Our firm has a great website you’ve neglected all this year.

As you said last night “Lisa, you’re in charge of marketing . . .

Please hound me in the morning for a blog about something.”

I sat down at my desk,

What will I convey?

There are many topics out there

That are relevant today.

I settled on a thought

For year 2025

To introduce my focus

On a goal for which I strive

Oh!

Write a blog! Write a blog! Post and reconnect

With clients, friends, and followers to whom you’ve served neglect

Starting fresh this new year you’ll commit to a monthly post

Diligence and focus is neglect’s best antidote.
